Energy savings and CO2 reduction in chemical and petrochemical industries

Since 2008, PILLER is working together with a leading synthetic rubber producer. Jointly, we are striving for reduced greenhouse gas emissions: by implementing industrial heat pump systems based on MVR blower technology.

Since 2008, PILLER is working together with a leading synthetic rubber producer. Jointly, we are striving for reduced greenhouse gas emissions: by implementing industrial heat pump systems based on MVR blower technology.

In our new customer case study, you can find out how we support the ongoing success of our customer in the chemical and petrochemical industry throughout the years. In addition, we present the project "Retrofitting EPDM Plants" in full detail.

Which savings could be achieved?

The system has proven extremely successful in many different applications at our customer’s facilities. Implementing PILLER Industrial Heat Pump cycles up to now results in

  • 67 % CO2e savings
  • 83 % Energy savings
  • 68 % Cost savings

compared to the original systems.

In the case of an EPDM Plant, the goal clearly was the same: reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Instead of transferring the heat released by condensation into the environment through cooling towers, PILLER delivered an Industrial Heat Pump solution here as well – generating new steam that feeds the stripping unit.

Optimizing EPDM Plants: a great investment

  • energy consumption reduced by over 80 %
  • CO2 emissions reduced by 62 %
  • saving more than 4 Milion € annually
  • payback period of 1.7 years
