The mechanical engineering company Piller Blowers & Compressors and Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences have agreed to collaborate in order to strengthen the link between theory and practice in engineering studies.
The aim of the collaboration is to enable students to pursue a practice-oriented course of study and to prepare them optimally for their career entry. Joint projects, practical tasks, and support in the selection and training of young professionals are planned. The university is internationally renowned for its excellent reputation in master's programs in IT, technology, and engineering.
For PILLER, it is crucial that tomorrow's engineers not only have theoretical knowledge but also gain practical experience. The collaboration with Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is an ideal way to achieve this. The university also welcomes the cooperation: “Through close collaboration with PILLER, our students can gain valuable insights into real technical challenges and apply their knowledge in a targeted manner,” explains Prof. Dr. Lutz Göcke, Professor of Digital Management at the university.
The partnership will begin at the start of the semester. Both partners see this as an important step toward providing practical training for young engineers and strengthening the region's innovative power.
“The cooperation with Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a strategically important step for us. The master's programs in Computer Engineering for IoT Systems, Environmental and Recycling Technology, and Renewable Energy Systems (M.Eng.) are particularly well suited to our fields of innovation,” says Christoph Böhnisch, CEO of PILLER. “These fields of study provide exactly the skills we need for the further development of our company and the implementation of forward-looking projects – from intelligent networking and sustainable production to new energy concepts. Together with the university, we want to bridge the gap between academic excellence and practical implementation and provide the best possible support for young engineers.”
During the meeting at the university, PILLER was able to get a first impression of the students' performance. Four student papers on the topics of generative AI, machine digitization, and change management were presented. [Characters, including spaces: 2.583]
