On October 1 2019, Christoph Böhnisch will take over the technical management of Piller Blowers & Compressors GmbH. He joined the company on 1 September 2019. Together with Commercial Managing Director Stephan Merkel, he will form part of the new leadership duo at the helm of the company. The previous Managing Director Nils Englund is due to retire at the end of the year.
Starting 1 October 2019, the new technical managing director, Christoph Böhnisch, will be responsible for the following divisions:
- Purchasing & Production Logistics
- and Quality Control.
Stephan Merkel has been the company’s second managing director since January 2019, previously alongside Nils Englund. With a focus on commercial activities, he is responsible for the following departments:
- Human Resources

Before joining PILLER, Christoph Böhnisch occupied managerial positions in the areas of purchasing, logistics, operations and sales – including six years as managing director at Leistritz Pumpen GmbH in Nuremberg.
